Established in 1973, the online arm of Stan James has become part of the Unibet group in a deal worth £19m
. The acquisition excludes the retail segment of the British gambling company. As part of the agreement, around 150 Stan James employees will be transferred to Unibet.

Unibet chief executive Henrik Tjärnström commented: 'We have long been looking at strengthening our position in the UK online market. Stan James as an operator is one of the most well-respected in the UK market with particular strengths in horse-racing and other British sports.'
